2nd Wedding Anniversary Celebration Part 3 - Dinner @ Skyve

Sorry for posting this up late.....
Anyway, I had won a $50 dining voucher for Skyve last month and I tot I should utilized the voucher for a special night out with Mr Wonderful to celebrate our anniversary.

So after all the photo taking, it was still drizzling outside. But since we were already already dressed and out of our room, we decided to make our way to Skyve instead of going for a walk. It was still early for our reservation as I made it at 8pm, so I call up the restaurant to inform them then we re turning up early for dinner. Mr Wonderful said we should take a cab there, but being out at Bugis in the evening, getting a cab is simply out.

We walk abit along the shop houses and ran a bit too out in the rain. Luckily the MRT station wasn't too far away and before we know it, we had reached the station. Skyve is located at Newton, which is also the nearest MRT Station. While on the train, I googled for the direction to Skyve.

After we reach Newton, Mr Wonderful lead the way, following the directions on the phone. We reach after a short 15mins walk.

Skyve Elementry Bar & Bistro

Here's the outdoor siting area.

It was a Monday night, so it was pretty quiet.

The restaurant was quite empty too.

Place mat on the table.

After we placed our order, the server came and set the table.

I am not an alcohol drinker, so no wine or beer for me...
I had cider instead...
Kopparberg Strawberry ($15)
I love it so much, very refreshing, full of strawberry taste...
Gonna check out Isetan or Market Place to see if they carried this...

Bread was served.

Here's our appetizer, Sous Vide Egg & Spaghettini ($18).
Iberico ham with soft poached egg and spaghettini.

It is a bit too oily because of the pesto salsa but very delicious. I love the poach egg...

Selfie time before our min course arrived.

The restaurant was still empty, with only our table at 7:30pm.

More selfie.... ;)

Finally our main courses arrived.....

I had this, Sous Vide Pork ($36).
You know what?
The pork is braised in ROOTBEER & spices, very interesting...
The crispy thingy on top of the pork is the skin. It is super crispy and delicious.
I know that it's unhealthy but indulge once in a while is acceptable right.... ;)
Anyway, the meat is very soft and I like the sauce that comes with it....

Mr Wonderful had this, the Polenta Mushroom Stack ($34).
There's polenta cake, grilled portobello, and lots of other veggies....
A very healthy dish.... Hahhhaa....

After main courses, it's time for dessert....
This is called Snicker Bar ($12).
I love the combination of the bananas, peanut better, chocolate and the vanilla gelato.

The food is good and so is the ambiance...

We took our last selfie at the restaurant before we left.

It was still drizzling lightly at about 9pm. But we walk slowly in the rain to the MRT Station and made our way back to the hotel.

It's time for us to enjoy our jacuzzi...

:)

It's been a long time since Mr Wonderful and I have a date. Glad to spend some private time together for dinner without Baby Joy! It was a surprise dinner date (3 weeks ago) as he just SMS me the venue 5 minutes before I off work.  When I reach the restaurant, there was a big crowd outside, waiting for tables. Mr Wonderful got 2 seats at the Sushi Counter which is our favorite whenever we dine at a  Japanese Restaurant.   There's a welcome drink for everybody. Never got to know what drink is that as the servers are always busy. We had a hard time trying to get their attention as everyone is attending to tables. There were a lot of table services such as tossing salad and cooking Sukiyaki by the table side.   My welcome drink   Quite nice, a little minty. The chilli padi looks scary, but you don't taste that at all... Wagyu Toro Sushi $7.90 I am not a fan of raw beef, so I've got nothing much to saw about this. But the beef literally 'melts' in my mouth, so make

Bye, 2013... Hello, 2014.... & Mini Giveaway

After all the celebration and parties to celebrate Christmas, so 2013 is coming to an end. Looking back into 2013, I've got a fair share of the good and bad...  Now that 2014 is arriving, it's time to plan for the future.... Yes! I plan that in 2013, but things are not going smoothly for me then.  But I'm gonna do that again in 2014, and the first thing I'm gonna do is.... To be pregnant again... Yes, that's my number one plan for 2014. I'm not young anymore, and I really do look forward to have a child of my own. I lost my child in 2013, and I'm not gonna let that happen again this time. I'm gonna take good care of myself this time and give birth to a healthy baby. Secondly, Mr Wonderful and I had gave up choosing a bto unit this year. It is because they are left with only second storey units, while we prefer a higher storey one. Hopefully, this year, we are able to to book a unit. Next, I hope I can have more time
