Taiwan Holiday - Day 4 @ 台北

Day 4 Itinerary
Taichung HSR 台中 - Taipei, Ximending 台北,西门町
Ximending 西门町 - Rao He Night Market 饶河夜市

Day 4 started late for us as we are tired from Sun Moon Lake 日月潭 trip the day before.
We woke up about 10am get ready and check out of the hostel.

Photo taking while waiting for dad & mum to get ready.

We took a cab and reach Taichung Train Station 台中火车站 in about 15 minutes. Upon reaching, Mr Wonderful join the queue to get our tickets.

The queue was long and after 10 minutes, it's our turn. The lady behind the counter told us that there were no more seats available and were left with only standing tickets only. We decided to skipped that train ride and immediately flagged a cab and make out way to Taichung HSR instead. To have dad & mum to stand for 2.5hrs on the train is a torture for them.

Bye Taichung Train Station....

Lucky there were tickets available at the HSR and we made out way to the platform to board the HSR.
Once on board, we found some seats in the free seating cabin, and I fell asleep again...

We reach Taipei HSR Station in about an hour and we make our way to look for food. No photos here as we were too hungry and the food ordered was gobbled up within minutes.

After lunch, we made our way to Cheers Hotel at Ximending 西门町. I tot I could find the hotel easily but gave up after 15 minutes of walking around the area. We know that are we're closed to the hotel already but just can't seems to find it. I call them up and told them where we were and a guy who answered the call just told us to wait at where we were while he made his way to fetch us.

A guy appeared after few minutes of waiting and asked if we were going to Cheers Hotel I looked at him and nodded my head. He then smile and help to carry our luggage and told us to follow him. We followed him into a small lane between 2 buildings, make a turn, and I saw the hotel. Right next to the hotel is the Cinema Street at Ximending.

Check in was a breeze and we hurry into our rooms to rest.

This bed was comfy, a hundred times better than Feng Jia Daydream Hostel..

The shower area was also much more spacious..

Small but well equipped toilet.

Here's the road to our hotel.
The hotel stands on the left and on the right is Ximending's Cinema Street.

Mr Wonderful and I took a shower and went for a walk around Ximending area.

I'm going to do some shopping here for the next few nights...

The Cinema is just right next to our hotel.

Soon after dad and mum called us and we went back to the hotel to fetched them and made our way to the MRT station. We are going to Wu Fen Pu 五分铺 & Rao He 饶河 night market.
Upon reaching XXX station, follow the signages and walk out the station. Then again we follow the crowd and reach Wu Fen Pu in no time.

We didn't do any shopping here cos we were hungry. Took some snapshots and we continue our way to Rao He Night Market.

Finally after 20mins of walking, we reach Rao He Night Market.

We saw is super long queue at the entrance to the night market.

Everybody is queuing for a piece of Hu Jiao Bing.

Smells so nice....
We didn't eat that but we tried some other snacks....

We had.....

Fried yam balls...

Gyozas....

Taiwan Style Tamago Yaki....

Passed by this stall that was crowded with little kids...

Catching fishes with paper net...

This is interesting...

Within the batter is custard cream....

Last but not least, Taiwanese Okonomiyaki....

It started raining after a while and we hurried back to the hotel as it was so cold...

All of us snuggle up in bed the moment we reach the hotel and soon, headed into our dreamland...

Career Switch @ Age 35

If you have went through this, you will know how I feel.... Career switch at age 35 seems like a risk... I have been in the restaurant line for the longest time already, and I spend the last 11 years in my previous company working hard to achieve who I am today. And poof, it's all gone now!!! What is the reason for this career switch and why? It is all because I AM A MOTHER! For the past year, I realize that I am always tired, I got no time to see my baby at all! She's still sleeping when I go to work, and she would have already fall asleep when I reach home! On my rest day, all I wanted is to sleep as I am so tired. I've grown fatter than before, putting on so much weight, I could only hear my parents telling me Baby Joy starts to crawl, she's calling 'Ah Ma', but I never get to see all her first time! I thought to myself, it's time to change! I need to be there for my girl, be part of her childhood, be there whenever she needs me! And the next thing I know...

Niku Kappo by Watabi

It's been a long time since Mr Wonderful and I have a date. Glad to spend some private time together for dinner without Baby Joy! It was a surprise dinner date (3 weeks ago) as he just SMS me the venue 5 minutes before I off work.  When I reach the restaurant, there was a big crowd outside, waiting for tables. Mr Wonderful got 2 seats at the Sushi Counter which is our favorite whenever we dine at a  Japanese Restaurant.   There's a welcome drink for everybody. Never got to know what drink is that as the servers are always busy. We had a hard time trying to get their attention as everyone is attending to tables. There were a lot of table services such as tossing salad and cooking Sukiyaki by the table side.   My welcome drink   Quite nice, a little minty. The chilli padi looks scary, but you don't taste that at all... Wagyu Toro Sushi $7.90 I am not a fan of raw beef, so I've got nothing much to saw about this. But the beef literally 'melts' in my mouth, so make ...
