Staycations: Changi Cove

This was pre-planned months ago as a surprise for Mr Wonderful for his 35th birthday. I was actually looking at a Staycation in Sentosa but he mentioned that we should go Pulau Ubin for a cycling trip instead. So I tot it's a good idea, and we are also looking forward to dine at The Coastal Settlements (Considering that it's nearby), too. So I check the internet and found Changi Cove to be situated nearby, and so, here we are....

Changi Cove is located at 351 Cranwell Road, which is just across the road to TCS (The Coastal Settlement).

Changi Cove is a good place if you are looking for some place away from the busy crowd. It is really quiet around the area at night, but a 10 minutes bus ride will bring you to Changi Village where you can find lots of delicious food.

About Changi Cove

Changi Cove - Heritage restored and modernized, set in nature

Changi Cove includes a Gateway Conference Centre as well as 112 modern rooms.

Photo taken within the hotel compound.

Doesn't look like a hotel at all, more like... Hostel...
One thing that I dislike is that, getting to the rooms is a bit complicated. You will have to take the lift up to a certain level, go thru the meeting/function rooms, out to the next building, take another lift up again. I almost got lost.....

Finally, I found the corridor that leads to my room....

Upon opening the door, this is what I see.....

Very cosy environment...
Love the swinging chair next to the window...

The bed is made up of 2 single beds, but nevertheless, it was super comfortable....
The bed is soft and I really slept well that night.

My favourite furniture in the room....
There wasn't much of a nice view outside but it just feels so good to sit there and day dream...

My second favourite....
Really love hotels with Nepresso in their rooms!

And complimentary chocolates to go with my coffee.....

Wow.... L'Occitane toiletries in the toilet...

They also have something in the room that other hotels doesn't.....

A whiteboard wall for all your imaginations & thoughts....
P/S: It was Mr Wonderful's Birthday so I drew that while he was having his nap....

There is no swimming pools or gym in the hotel. But they have a lounge that is open 24 hours for their guests.....

Upon opening the door, this is what I see.....

Biscuits, Snacks....

Coffees, milo, tea....

Beanie seats next to the window....
There's also tables and chairs if need to get some work done...

Further in, there's a shelf that is filled with all sorts of board games....

There's monopoly, bingo and all sorts of games...

There's another door at the end of the lounge that opens up to a outdoor seating area....

Nice environment, isn't it...
It will be better with a glass of bubbles in hand...

Night view of the hotel or hostel??

The stay comes with a complimentary breakfast for 2.
The dining area is located opposite the hotel lobby.

The long dining tables....

Cereals, oats, yogurts, fresh fruits....
Simple and delicious....

There are also hot dishes such as ham, eggs and breads...

We had a delicious breakfast before checking out the hotel....

Overall, Changi Cove is a nice place away from the hustle of busy city life. Especially great after spending a day out in the nature at Palau Ubin, a nice & cosy place to rest for a night. A wonderful chance for a romantic night with just the 2 of you...

Eat And Drink: Christmas with Starbucks & Final Giveaway for 2015

Have you tried the Christmas beverages from Starbucks?  美味しいです。。(Delicious in Japanese) This year Starbucks return with 3 returning favorites and a new creation, in both hot latte and frappuccino options. Latte Version Photo credits: Starbucks Singapore New Creation:  Christmas Panettone Latte Returning Favorite:  Peppermint Mocha Latte (Recommended) Gingerbread Latte Toffee Nut Latte Frappuccino Version Photo Credits: Starbucks Singapore New Creation:  Christmas Panettone  Returning Favorite:  Peppermint Mocha (Recommended) Gingerbread Toffee Nut  I've tried all the hot & cold flavors and I preferred the usual Peppermint Mocha in both hot & cold options. As for the new creation, Christmas Panettone, it doesn't give me any surprises at all. I think the dried fruits sprinkle doesn't do justice to the drink too.  Another item that I highly recommend is the Chocolate ...

Reviews: Orbis Aqua Peeling Gel

I've never been a fan of peeling gel. I've tried a few brands before, but somehow, I don't think that it works. It's not that it doesn't clear the dead skin, but rather, I can use the peeling gel continuously 3 times on the same place and still, there are lots of dead skin. So it's either the peeling gel doesn't work or I've got too much dead skin.... I got this sample months back when I shopped at the Pop-Up store at Ion. I tot I should try this out since I've been enjoying some of their products. It's a clear gel, turns watery upon application. I like the fact that the dead skins clumps together instead of the usual when they will drop everywhere in the bathroom. I did a second 'test' right after the first usage on the same area. Guess what?  Orbis Aqua Peeling Gel is really up to my expectations.... The first application had removed quite a bit of the dead skin on my hands, and during th...
