Short Break - Visiting my In-Laws in Kuala Lumpur

Manage to squeeze in a short 4 day leave last minute and decided to go back to KL to visit my in-laws. Was supposed to be back in August but I was hospitalized, so the plan was delayed till then.
It was a short trip and in order to save time, we booked the earliest flight available, at 6:45am.

Day 1

Here we are, hanging around waiting for our flight. I didn't sleep the whole night, as I'm afraid I will overslept and missed my flight. :P
Saw this social tree in the departure hall and started pressing on the screen.

I took a photo with the in-build camera on the screen.
Uploading my photo onto the social tree.

My photo's on the big screen... :)

Waiting for boarding, taking selfies again.... :)

The flight was quick, about 35mins only, and here we are, arriving at KL International Airport.

The sky was bright, and we had a whole day to spent with my in-laws.... We hurried home as it's still a long way.

After we reach home, the first thing to do is to look for food. My in-laws bought us to this place near our home. Hakka Yong Tau Fu....

Delicious, isn't it.... :P

After food, we went back home for our afternoon nap. When I woke up, it was already 5pm. Played with the kids, had dinner at home, and relax doing nothing.

About 8plus at night, Hubby bought me to the shopping mall near our home, Festival Mall. We went for our healthy dessert, Gui Ling Gao.

I've been here a few times already and I love their Gui Ling Gao. It is smooth and not very bitter.

The pudding is very springy....

I think this shop is quite popular in KL, saw 2 outlets at Times Square too.

After dessert, we had a walk around doing window shop before we headed home to sleep....

Day 2

Left home after a simple breakfast for sight seeing at KLCC. Took the LRT and alighted at KLCC station. I heard that there's a Krispy Creme outlet nearby and was looking forward to a light snack. Tot that we'll spend a long time looking for the outlet but it is located nearby, at Avenue K.

Haven't been there for a long time and Avenue K was having a major renovation. The basement is already in operation with lots of new shops, mainly restaurants, cafés and cake shops. Once we walked in, Krispy Creme is in sight.

Lots of different flavors to choose. I'm still full from my breakfast, but I couldn't resist the craving for donuts.

In the end, I bought 1 original glaze to satisfy my cravings. It was delicious, and cheap too. RM$2.60 per piece here in KL, SGD$2.60 in Singapore's outlet.

There's also an outlet of Marutama Ramen at Avenue K. The outlets in Malaysia offers more choices of ramen and also much cheaper in Singapore.
Yum yum!!!

Saw this shop with lots of cute cupcakes in the display.

See, so many different favours.

So colourful and looks delicious too.

There are also a Korean restaurant, 7-11 and supermarket. There will also be a very big outlet of H&M coming up soon in November, if I'm not wrong. Cool, we'll have a new place to hang out next time when we are back.

We then walk to KLCC for another round of window shopping. I don't really like KLCC cos it's mainly designer boutiques. The basement area is still quite ok. A lot of fashion and beauty outlets, restaurants and cafés. A bit like Orchard Ion..
No photos here....

After a while, we went back to Avenue K for a late lunch of ramen. Yes! Marutama Ramen. Taste wise, I still prefer to have it in Singapore, but still acceptable lah....

It started to rain at about 3pm plus and it's time to go Grandma's house.

The traffic in KL is terrible, grandma stay in Cherras area and we took almost 1 hour to reach.

It always feel like Chinese New Year at Grandma's place cos most relative will meet up there for dinner whenever we go back. Kids running around, auntie and uncle chit-chatting.

Me? Taking photos of the kids with my Polaroid.....

I took a lot of photos but the kids are all fighting for them.

After all the photo taking and kid's fight, we when out for a walk, bringing the kids along.
The rain stop and I manage to see rainbow. It's been a long long time since I see rainbow in Singapore.

We stayed awhile more after dinner before we went home to shower. Had bought movie tickets for 10:30pm show with my in-laws.

I've been to Malaysia for so many times but seriously, I have never watch movies in Malaysia before. I'm not really a movie fan, maybe 2 or 3 movies a year. Haha...

After movie, we went home and it's time to sleep.

Day 3

Work up early for breakfast and left for shopping at Bukit Bintang. Again, we took the LRT and transfer to the monorail and alighted at Bukit Nanas station.

Selfie time....

Every time I come here, the first place I will go to is A&W. I was shock when I couldn't find it this time. Gosh... I was craving for their root beer float and curly fries. Can someone tell me where can I find A&W in KL so I could go during my next trip home.....

We went to window shopping at Fahrenheit & Pavilion before we stop for desserts at Pavilion.

Photo

See what I found! Mini Lao Fu Zi comics. So cute right.... Bought these at a shop at Fahrenheit, 3rd or 4th level. There are also mini Doraemon and Crayon Shin Chan comics. I'm going back to buy more the next time when I'm back.
;)

Craving for some cooling desserts when we walk passed this place serving Sweet Potato & Yam balls on ice.

Waiting anxiously for my dessert to arrive....

Finally it's here....

Cooling, refreshing and delicious.... And cheap too....
The sweet potato and yam ball is very chewy, like the pearls in bubble tea. The ice they served is Brown Sugar ice, not very sweet. Very nice.

After dessert, we walk around a bit and saw some creative breads in one of the bakery shop.

Guess what are these?
Orange bread, Pumpkin bread and Apple bread.

Mango bread

I tried the pumpkin bread. Outlook is cute, but taste can be better. The pumpkin filling inside taste like pumpkin kaya. Haha... Maybe they should just put in mashed pumpkin, I think that will taste much better.

After that we walk over to Berjaya Times Square. There's an indoor theme park in the building. Also another Krispy Creme outlet too.

Bought a dozen of donuts for the kids as we'll be going to grandma's place for dinner later.

We window shopped a bit before we moved on to our next destination, Grandma's place.

Again, it's the get together time, before we left for Singapore the next day. Hubby also brought me to the pasar malam for a walk after dinner.

I love the pasar malam in Malaysia.
Tip: When visiting pasar malam in Malaysia, make sure you go on an empty stomach.
COZ,
there's lots of delicious snacks and food to eat.

After that we went home as we are planning for another movie date, but just me and hubby this time.

2 movies in 2 days.... That was our 'First Time', for hubby and me.

Movie ended and we went home to rest. Days passes really fast and we'll be going back to singapore the next day.

Day 4

Woke up late and had my breakfast and milo.

Big bao with lots of filling. The bao is really very big, almost a D Cup.
Hahaaa.... ;P
There's Meat, turnip and egg inside. Super delicious.... Yum yum!
Only RM$1 if I never remember wrongly, overheard one of the auntie saying to hubby.

Nothing much to do, except packing our luggage.

Slack around abit before we started packing. Left for the airport at about 3:30pm.

Singapore, I'm back.....

Career Switch @ Age 35

If you have went through this, you will know how I feel.... Career switch at age 35 seems like a risk... I have been in the restaurant line for the longest time already, and I spend the last 11 years in my previous company working hard to achieve who I am today. And poof, it's all gone now!!! What is the reason for this career switch and why? It is all because I AM A MOTHER! For the past year, I realize that I am always tired, I got no time to see my baby at all! She's still sleeping when I go to work, and she would have already fall asleep when I reach home! On my rest day, all I wanted is to sleep as I am so tired. I've grown fatter than before, putting on so much weight, I could only hear my parents telling me Baby Joy starts to crawl, she's calling 'Ah Ma', but I never get to see all her first time! I thought to myself, it's time to change! I need to be there for my girl, be part of her childhood, be there whenever she needs me! And the next thing I know...

Niku Kappo by Watabi

It's been a long time since Mr Wonderful and I have a date. Glad to spend some private time together for dinner without Baby Joy! It was a surprise dinner date (3 weeks ago) as he just SMS me the venue 5 minutes before I off work.  When I reach the restaurant, there was a big crowd outside, waiting for tables. Mr Wonderful got 2 seats at the Sushi Counter which is our favorite whenever we dine at a  Japanese Restaurant.   There's a welcome drink for everybody. Never got to know what drink is that as the servers are always busy. We had a hard time trying to get their attention as everyone is attending to tables. There were a lot of table services such as tossing salad and cooking Sukiyaki by the table side.   My welcome drink   Quite nice, a little minty. The chilli padi looks scary, but you don't taste that at all... Wagyu Toro Sushi $7.90 I am not a fan of raw beef, so I've got nothing much to saw about this. But the beef literally 'melts' in my mouth, so make ...
